THE ACHIEVEMENTS

 

  • Introductory workshop on eco-design, 5 June 2025, Toulouse:

Aerospace Valley organised an introductory workshop on eco-design for SMEs, in collaboration with Occimore, to raise awareness of funding schemes, introduce the process and also benefit from related feedback.

The workshop was organised as part of the Collective Initiative for the Industrial Transformation of SMEs in the Aerospace Sector (OCTIA), supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the Occitanie region.

 

  • ESG Workshop – GIFAS / ESG Lab&Society, 1 and 3 July 2025, Toulouse and Bordeaux:

GIFAS and ESG Lab & Society, in collaboration with Aerospace Valley, organised a Form’action session entitled “ESG performance and economic performance: the new equation for business leaders”. The objectives of this session were to:

  • To raise awareness, mobilise and engage leaders of medium-sized enterprises on the challenges of the transition, with a focus on the ESG issues and operational realities they face,
  • To present ESG issues and regulations as both risks and opportunities to be integrated,
  • To share experiences amongst peers in order to take action and strengthen the company’s resilience.

 

  • Eco-design workshop for large groups, 25 September 2025, Toulouse

The aim of this meeting of eco-design representatives was to familiarise participants with the context of the IAEG (International Aerospace Environmental Group®) and to exchange insights on internal organisational structures, supply chain data collection, methods and the tools used.

  • Collaborative workshop – Towards a resilient and sustainable value chain, 30 September 2025, Toulouse

Aerospace Valley organised a session for discussion and sharing of experiences to collectively understand, anticipate and adapt to the climate and systemic risks affecting our sectors, with a view to strengthening cooperation between stakeholders to develop effective and shared adaptation solutions.

This workshop was organised as part of the Collective Operation for the Industrial Transformation of SMEs in the Aerospace Sector (OCTIA), supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the Occitanie region.

 

  • Quarterly Environment Newsletter

Sent to over 800 qualified recipients, the Environment Newsletter was created to inform members about events, funding opportunities, resources, tools and relevant news on the themes of the circular economy and decarbonisation for the sectors.

SELECTION OF WEBINARS AND EVENTS

 

  • Aerospace Valley Forum, May 2025.

Plenary presentation by the Cluster’s environmental expert to 600 participants on the support offered by Aerospace Valley for the environmental transition of SMEs, highlighting the group workshops organised and the Bpifrance/Ademe assessments on offer.

  • Webinar: Circularity in the Aerospace Industry, 9 September 2025 – focus on composite production waste: Challenges, barriers and initiatives for a sustainable sector.

The Aerospace Valley Cluster organised this webinar on circularity in the aerospace industry, with a focus on the reuse and recycling of composite production waste. This session, which attracted 90 participants, presented the main barriers and drivers identified in a study conducted amongst industry stakeholders, as well as concrete initiatives in support of the circular economy. Testimonials from industry representatives and the IAEG (International Aerospace Environmental Group®), which is involved in drawing up guidelines for the sector, complemented the discussions, alongside an overview of national and European funding opportunities.

 

 

OUTLOOK

  •     Electricity Consortium / PPA Initiative, with the support of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie regions

This initiative aims to enhance the skills of sector stakeholders in the electricity markets and power purchase agreements (PPAs). The ultimate goal? To stabilise their electricity bills by providing access to more competitive and decarbonised electricity, and even to establish a collective for energy procurement.

  •     Circular Economy of Metals Workshop, 25 June 2026, Toulouse

Aerospace Valley will bring together stakeholders in the circular economy of metals within the aerospace sector to explore ways to make better use of and maximise the value of these materials, from design right through to recycling. In the face of raw material shortages, cost pressures and industrial performance challenges, the event will bring together the perspectives of prime contractors, feedback from the field and concrete solutions for the sector. It will aim to identify actions across the value chain and to foster opportunities for cooperation on issues relating to sorting, recovery and the organisation of material flows.

  •     R4 Composites, the national event for the circular economy of composites, will hold its third edition in October 2026 in Bordeaux, co-organised with the Polymeris and Team2 clusters, and with ABE.

For its third edition in 2026, R4 Composites is now firmly established as a long-term fixture and has cemented its status as an unmissable event for stakeholders in the circular economy of composite materials. Typically attracting 170 participants and hosting over 500 B2B meetings, the event reaffirms its commitment to fostering dialogue across the entire composites value chain and between different sectors, focusing on the challenges of transition, industrialisation and value creation, with a view to accelerating the development of concrete solutions.

The programme will centre on plenary sessions featuring presentations, pitches, round-table discussions, B2B meetings and site visits. The round-table discussions will focus in particular on business models for composites, sector-specific challenges and alternative approaches.
