THE INDUSTRIAL CHALLENGES AWAITING YOUR SOLUTIONS

AIRBUS ATLANTIC CHALLENGES

Challenge n°1 - Circularity of manufacturing systems in the aeronautics sectorThis topic focuses on exploring innovative strategies that extend the lifecycle of components, reduce resource dependency, and enable the reuse and recycling of materials — all while maintaining performance, safety, and compliance within a highly regulated sector.

Challenge n°2 - Implementation of sustainable supply chains through cross-industry partnershipsThis topic addresses how cross-industry cooperation can drive more resilient, transparent, and environmentally responsible supply chains, leveraging shared infrastructure, data, and best practices to accelerate impact.

RENAULT GROUP Spain CHALLENGE

Challenge n°3 - Circular Economy, Digital Traceability, Supply Chain Resilience, Sustainable Automotive: The problem spans the entire automotive value chain, from component design and sourcing to manufacturing, vehicle assembly, and after-sales service. The absence of an integrated circularity framework affects material selection, production planning, inventory management, quality control for reused parts, and compliance reporting, directly impacting long-term profitability and sustainability goals.

HORSE AVEIRO CHALLENGE

Challenge n°4 - Sustainable mobility & net-zero transportation, electrification and energy storage innovations for sustainable mobility solutionsThis challenge focuses on optimising the energy use of material handling equipment — such as electric forklifts and automated vehicles — by developing intelligent storage solutions, optimising movement routes, and exploring vehicle-to-grid technologies. The objective is to reduce electricity costs, particularly during peak tariff periods, while ensuring operational reliability.

SCAIRA CONSORTIUM CHALLENGE

Challenge n°5 - Circular economy in the aerospace and automotive industries:

  • The issues of sustainable and local sourcing in a world subject to economic and climatic challenges.
  • The need of Innovative processes for waste reduction in the industry.
  • Reduce the environmental footprint through the control of maintenance, eco-designing the product at the beginning & the end of its life.
