THE ACHIEVEMENTS

The SMP Ecosystem of Excellence aims to identify and promote the ongoing development of Structures, Materials and Processes which constitute the foundation of mechanical engineering products. With skills adjustment, these evolutions are part of a drive for the competitiveness and sustainable development of the supply chain.

In 2022-2023, the missions of the SMP Ecosystem focused on three areas:

Innovation funding with the launch of “innovation” or “modernization” projects (via recovery plans or other funding schemes), repositioning of SMEs towards other more suitable schemes (PSPC Region, regional projects, EIT Manufacturing..) and supporting collaborative projects (national, European) or Cluster accreditation.

Continued monitoring of the technological roadmap by moderating and connecting actors in the composite, surface treatment and recycling ecosystems. But also with the AddimAlliance synergy on the development of Additive Manufacturing.

The competitiveness and sustainable development of the supply chain, by supporting Middle sized companies/SME/Very small companies, fostering connections for business development, skills development, and diversification. But also recommendations on processes aimed at improving competitiveness (digitalization, industry of the future..) and minimizing the carbon footprint (circular economy).

LOOKING BACK:

E2 SMP has organized different meeting days to raise awareness, connect and promote innovation in materials and processes through:

Techno coffee time meetings :

  • When aerospace moves to additive manufacturing of technical ceramics with the participation of  3D CERAM SINTO and ANYWAVES

  • Ceramic materials and their applications for aeronautics and space with the CIRIMAT research laboratory and MARION TECHNOLOGIES

Scientific and Technical Days:

  • Non-destructive testing and AI (CND & IA) -  Co-organized by l’Université de Bordeaux and Aerospace Valley

  • Aeronautic repairs, major challenges and technological advances  (Composite repairs  and metal repairs ) with around twelve companies and research labs including DGA, Airbus, Air France and others - Co-organized by the DGA, A3F and Aerospace-Valley

A conference day : A national event devoted to the composite circular economy (R4 composite) - Co-organized by  Polymeris, Team2, ABE and Aerospace Valley (7 March, 2023 in Bordeaux ) which brought together: 160 participants, 42 speakers and 530 BtoB meetings. Member companies present included: CANOE, IRT Saint Exupery, , Rescoll, Alpha recyclage composites, and Omega Systèmes. The following players were also presentaeronautics sector: Airbus, Tarmac Aerosave, GIFAS, Daher – Nautical sector: Lalou Multi, Beneteau, FIN and Wind power sector: Vestas, Valorem, AD3R.

The Infoday "The place of bio-based materials in the aeronautics, space and UAV industries" (November 23, 2022 in Agen) attracted 81 participants, 24 speakers and 22 exhibitors. The event featured contributions from member companies offering solutions such as Lièges HPK, Alterkraft, Cobratex, 4D Pioneers, Veso Concept and Arkema, as well as end-users such as Airbus D&S, Aura Aero, DGA and Pilgrim Technology.

A technical workshop: the circular economy, essential for the aeronautics, drones and space sectors - Co-organisation under the aegis of the Aerospace Valley Forum
