THE ACHIEVEMENTS

In light of the constant increase in member numbers, nearly 300, and the end of Covid 19 related restrictions, E2 has renewed during this period with its pre-crisis dynamic activity. This is perfectly illustrated by the success of the brainstorming day and the emergence of projects in partnership with the EDIA ecosystem.

The ecosystem’s activities includes:

  • regular meetings with over 20 ecosystem coordinators and experts.

  • technical workshops and webinars covering strategic areas defined in the cluster roadmap, in particular focusing on topics such as Electrification of functions, Communications, Human System Interfaces and related technologies: power electronics, piloting assistance, optical communications….

It is also within this framework that exchanges with the technical platforms of the IMS in Bordeaux and the LAAS of Toulouse were launched. The sharing of research advances and the promotion of skills and services offered by these platforms to the cluster’s entire ecosystem will be continued in 2023-2024.

In terms of innovation and development, the ecosystem has also carried out actions:

  • Deciphering and providing expertise for projects submitted for accreditation by the Cluster,

  • Organization of project emergence sessions with two days dedicated to AI Edge: Edge Computing platform and Embedded AI,

  • Support for members in the organization of their AMI, Challenge and AAC as well as participation in identifying candidates for support programs for sectors (CORAC SME, MAELE…)

  • Instruction and preparation for awareness raising sessions regarding future marking, inspection and certification regulations of Drone platforms.

Throughout this period, the SEC Ecosystem has developed its relationships with other clusters, and interest organizations for its members and in particular with Digital Aquitaine, Alpha RLH, Embedded France and TOTEM, as well as with factory of the future 4.0 platforms and projects.

Finally the E² SEC ecosystem represented by its board and the community of Leaders/Experts has contributed to the development of many roadmaps: SRI OCC, FdR Electronique NAQ, Action Electronique de puissance OCC, as well as that of Ere 5 of the  cluster.

LOOKING BACK:

E2 organized many events including: days dedicated to brainstorming, project emergence and thinking about current and future technologies for embedded systems, as well as webinars on obsolescence, eco-design and system sustainability:

  • A series of 5 technical webinars dealing with electronics, in particular eco-design versus European environmental directives, durability vs obsolescence, microelectronic perspectives vs social and industrial challenges (April, June, November 2022),

  • Multi-sector technical workshop in person at B612 in TOULOUSE on the analysis of stakes and obstacles to be removed to move towards collaboration between humans and machines: Human Autonomy Teaming (HAT) (April 2022),

  • Participation in ERTS and ICCAS shows, not to be missed for Intelligent embedded systems: power electronics and Edge AI played a central role (June 2022)

  • PHAROS day on « Secure Communications», in Brive: State of the art, trends and technological challenges related to RF, LiFi, space communications, Lidar and Goniometry and case studies for UAVs.

  • Monitoring of the Way4Space brainstorming workshop “spatial optical communications” in Talence in partnership with Alpha RLH generating a dozen collaborative project ideas (September and October 2022),

  • Two days on « Embedded AI »  brainstorming, project emergence and setup on the three Aeronautics, Space and Drone sectors, in Agen in partnership with Digital Aquitaine and Embedded France: accreditation of 3 projects, generation of 18 project ideas and the  creation of  three work groups (November 2022 and March 2023).
