Présentation

MAELE by Aerospace Valley (Environmentally responsible Light Air Mobility), an initiative launched by the Cluster in November, 2020, brings together a community of innovative regional players in the field of light, low-carbon air mobility.

In the context of an unprecedented health and economic crisis impacting air transportation, the objective shared by all sector stakeholders is to make France one of the most advanced countries in clean aviation technologies, by preparing the next technological breakthroughs.

The Aerospace Valley initiative strives to:

  • Bring together innovative regional companies (in particular SMEs) as well as infrastructures, schools, laboratories, and research platforms around regional integrators,
  • Foster exchanges within this community,
  • Federate players to foster the emergence of projects ensuring skills development and demonstrating their expertise.

No less than 10 integrators, 25 parts manufacturers/industrial companies and 20 laboratories/platforms have already been identified for this launch, supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie Regions. This initiative aims to consolidate the Greater South-West, France and Europe in their position as international leader in aeronautics, enabling them to play a major role in the challenge of decarbonizing aviation and hence in the fight against climate change.

MAELE is a coherent component of actions being carried out on the national scale by the Government and the sector’s representative bodies, which will be associated with the initiative in an advisory and guiding capacity.

MAELE is supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and the Occitanie/Pyrénées-Mediterranée Region.
