Aerospace Maritime and Defence Foundation of Australia to support Australian Helicopter Industry Association
The Aerospace Maritime and Defence Foundation of Australia Limited (AMDFA) has joined forces with the Australian Helicopter Industry Association (AHIA) to promote the Australian helicopter industry.
Under the terms of an agreement just signed between them, the Foundation’s conference and exhibition arm, Industry Defence and Security Australia Limited, will become a major long-term corporate sponsor of the Association and will conduct the biennial Rotortech Conference and Exhibition.
AMDFA, together with its management team headed by CEO Ian Honnery, has been a long-time supporter of AHIA, and was the Founding Corporate Sponsor of the Association when it was formed in 2012.
"Our sponsorship will provide financial stability to the AHIA and enable the Association to get on with the vital task of advancing the interests of its members", Mr Honnery said.
The Aerospace Maritime and Defence Foundation of Australia Limited (AMDFA) is a not-for-profit foundation whose mission is to promote Australia’s aviation, aerospace, maritime, defence and security industries.
AMDFA’s subsidiaries, Industry Defence and Security Australia Limited and Aerospace Australia Limited, stage a suite of flagship international events such as the Avalon Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition, the Pacific International Maritime Exposition, the Land Forces Land Defence Exposition and the CivSec Civil Security and Civil Defence Congress and Exposition.
"To promote the development of Australia’s helicopter industry, and the aerospace industry sector which supports it, the biennial Rotortech Conference and Exhibition will now be part of that suite of major world-class events," Mr Honnery said.
"We believe that a strong rotary-wing aviation sector and a highly-advanced aerospace industry are of major importance for Australia and we are delighted to play our role in providing them with an enhanced promotional platform through the event management expertise and resources we are able to bring to Rotortech."
"Our vision is to build on what AHIA has achieved with Rotortech, which since the inaugural Rotortech in 2014 has become the premier event of its kind in Australia, and to ensure that Australian rotary-wing aviation and Australia’s aerospace capabilities are positioned as industry leaders in the Indo-Asia-Pacific".
Rotortech 2018 will be held at Novotel Twin Waters Resort, Maroochydore 24-25-26 May 2018.
A dedicated website will be up and running by the end of this month.
