Aerospace Valley is pleased to invite you at the Dubai South Conference.
Dubai South (previously ‘Dubai World Central’) is a 145 sq. km purpose-built airport city under development in Dubai. The project is owned by the Dubai Aviation City Corporation, an entity of the Government of Dubai. Composed of eight integrated districts – many of which host economic free zones – Dubai South hosts the emirate’s second airport – the Al Maktoum International (IATA: ‘DWC’) - and the venue of Dubai Expo 2020.The key industries at Dubai South are aviation and logistics. Both industries leverage on two unique strengths: the central geographical position Dubai enjoys vis-à-vis the world’s emerging markets, and Dubai South’s multimodal capabilities that enable cargo movement over sea-land-air in record times. Besides aviation and logistics, the city is building a comprehensive economic Free Zone platform, one that supports virtually every type of business and industry. Around 4,400 companies currently operates at Dubai South. The now-operational Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai South is currently expanding to become the world’s largest commercial aviation facility. Once complete, its five A380-compatible parallel runways will have capacity to fly 220 million passengers and 16 million tons of cargo per year. Dubai South is well-connected to the rest of Dubai. It is situated approximately 35 minutes from Dubai International Airport, and 30 minutes from Downtown Dubai. There are currently 256 French companies providing a range of services out of Dubai South.
This event is to enable French Aerospace companies and Dubai South to strengthen the existing relationship and expand cooperation in the area of aerospace and aviation development. This networking event in particular, will allow French aerospace companies to gain an insight of the business opportunities present, an overview of current developments and future plans of Dubai’s aviation and aerospace hub.
Further, this collaboration is to create synergies between French aerospace companies who are eyeing international opportunities with Dubai South as a strategic and preferred location. The potential of this partnership is expected to provide French aerospace SMEs direct market access, higher value chain integration by being closer to key business partners such as Emirates and Etihad as well as move Dubai
South’s aerospace value chain upwards and into new verticals. The areas of collaboration could range from technology partnerships, co-investments in aerospace assets, establish new capabilities and forays into aerospace manufacturing, which bodes well for French companies which are or in the midst of considering expansion or new growth markets.
